Why Donate?

Community Sailing of Colorado operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and relies heavily on contributions to provide recreational opportunities to children that may not typically be afforded an opportunity to appreciate sailing and water activities.
Through continued donations Community Sailing of Colorado is able to offer annual scholarships to students to complete week long programs. The scholarships are awarded to children who may not have the financial resources to participate in similar programs. The scholarships are funded by individual donations that are solicited during the Gala event.
All participants create hand written “thank-you” notes to the funding sponsor. The scholarship programs have shown tremendous benefit to the participants and perhaps even a greater benefit to the donors after receiving the letters.
In addition, CSC relies heavily on Corporate Sponsors to provide much needed resources for the programs. This includes sailboats, sails, rigging and safety equipment such as life jackets and wetsuits.
Donations from Corporate Sponsors are the key element to expand the resources of the programs to benefit a larger demographic of children.
All donations are 100% tax deductible.
BENEFITS OF DONATION
The key element of Corporate Sponsorship is that through donations CSC is able to provide activities for special needs children throughout the summer. This includes activities for special needs children that may suffer from physical or mental handicaps. The joy that is evident on the kids’ faces while gliding along on a sailboat is truly priceless!
”Sailing is one of those rare activities whose inherent versatility makes it possible to enrapture everyone. It is a lifelong, wholesome activity with something for all who try it. This special quality means it can bond generations, sexes and classes of people. But this program is not really about sailing. It’s about motivating youngsters toward reaching their full potential in life, using sailing as a tool, taking advantage of its inherent qualities to encourage positive growth.”
